Samsung confirms September release of Froyo for Galaxy S

Samsung has confirmed the release of Android 2.2 a.k.a. Froyo for their Galaxy S series in UK. Sources say that it will also be released in US too to all the carriers namely Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Hopefully we will be getting some sweet Froyo in September.

Samsung EPIC 4G – August 20th Release ?

Considering the past record of Samsung, we might have the release date for the gorgeous EPIC 4G on Sprint. Samsung had posted 2 SPS TV (Samsung TV) videos to showcase their Captivate and Vibrant phones with the post dates coinciding with the official release of the phone.

Now, Samsung has posted August 20th as the date to showcase the EPIC 4G. So considering the clash of previous official release dates with the showcase, we might have 20th August as the date for the EPIC phone. Samsung Galaxy S – UK ad

Samsung Galaxy S ad in UK daily newspaper. Hits the right chord where the competition couldn’t. There is also a rumor going around that Samsung is giving away free Galaxy S devices in UK for those who have problems with their iPhones, albeit few conditions of course, but nice nonetheless.

Samsung’s BIG Entry

Samsung’s new edition to their phone line up named Galaxy S has made waves in the smartphone market. Especially with the Super AMOLED display and the 1GHz Humming Bird Processor, the phone is considered to be among the top contenders in the android space right now and also on par compared to iPhone 4.

The specification of the phone can be found here. The phone spec is same with all the four variants and the changes are more at the hardware level.

The four major service providers in US are coming out with their own variations of Samsung Galaxy S named Epic 4G (Sprint), Fascinate (Verizon), Captivate (AT&T) and Vibrant (Tmobile).

Release date and price are not announced yet but it is said that the phones will be released soon, most probably by July or August. Samsung has also promised Android 2.2 update soon after the launch.
