Sprint is the first wireless carrier to bring Android 2.2 to customers using the award-winning HTC EVO™ 4G beginning Tuesday, Aug. 3
Sprint is going to release Froyo (Android 2.2) to few of their customers on August 3rd. If everything goes well, then Froyo will be released to the larger audience. Lot of enhancements and feature additions have been made to HTC EVO 4G. Check out the press release here. Hit the source link for all the enhancements and feature addition details.
AndroidCentral ran some benchmark tests on the HTC EVO 4G, Motorola DROID X and Google’s Nexus One device. Nexus One was running Android 2.2 a.k.a. Froyo, whereas the EVO and DROID X were running Android 2.1 a.k.a. Eclair. Though Froyo gave Nexus One the edge, Droid X was way faster as compared to EVO even with 2.1 on it. It will be interesting to see how far and fast can Droid X go when it gets the sweet Froyo update in August.
